So, the youth festival 2013 is on. While it
empowers the country’s young achievers and provides them with a national
platform to showcase their talents, it also brings together a truly Indian
extravaganza of dance, drama and music for youngsters in the capital city.
Successfully completing its first leg, the
Youth Festival 2013 presented by Delhi Government’s Department of Art, Culture
& Languages will continue to entertain the city people next weekend from November 29 to December, 01, 2013 at Central Park, Connaught Place, New Delhi.
The festival will stage together an array of
dance forms that will depict the flavor of India drenched in youthful aura.
Coming from every corner of the country, young and talented artists and groups
would participate and make the event a success. Be it contemporary, classical
or folklore – there will be a lot of action to watch out for in each segment.
Youth bands selected from different states and cities would take the festival
on a higher note.
“We are extremely overwhelmed to see the
kind of acknowledgement this festival is receiving from people of all ages in
the city. The numbers, the hoots and the appreciation from the crowd gathered
at the festival on Day 3, said it all. Come next weekend for another fun-filled
extravaganza that will keep you yearning for more”, says Smt. Sindhu Mishra, Secretary of Sindhi
Academy and Deputy Secretary of Sahitya Kala Parishad.
“There are many independent groups in
our country who are continuously empowering the youngsters with adequate training
in different art forms. Then, there are youth bands who have their own unique
take on music and a huge fan following. So, our country makes up for a bunch of
talent waiting to get explored. At the same time, these young dancers,
musicians, cultural groups and trainers, need support and the right kind of
exposure. The youth festival acts like their backbone and give them the
platform to showcase their talents and the culture and feel of our soil
together at one go”, she added further.
Leading puppeteer Dadi Pudumjee is also
expected to add zing to the festival with a special puppet show.
Giving the ongoing festival a much-needed
edge, an exhibition showcasing best artworks by young artists from various art
colleges of the capital is also up for display and exploration, for visitors at
the festival.
As part of their many endeavours to keep
intact the roots of our country that lies strong in its dance, drama and
culture and of course the youth, Delhi Government’s Department of Art, Culture
& Languages under Delhi Celebrates annually holds this festival to make
sure young achievers are recognized and encouraged to take their talents
seriously and in turn also bring a time for celebration for the cultural
capital of the country- Delhi.
Groups like Sadhya, Bhoomika, ASPA, Abhinay
dance company, Tapasya etc. would take on the contemporary juncture in full
swing. Music bands including Secret Weapon, Indian Saber, Three the People,
