National Paralympic Swimming Championships end well for Sharath Gayakwad


Speedo athlete Sharath Gayakwad wins four Golds at the Championships

Bangalore: Speedo athlete and ace Paralympic swimmer Sharath Gayakwad ended his campaign at the 13th National Paralympic Swimming Championships in Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre (BAC), Bangalore,  winning four Golds at the tournament. The Paralympic Champion and Speedo India Brand Ambassador Sharath Gayakwad who participated in the 50m Backstroke and 50m Freestyle on the first day of the Championships,and  in the 50m Butterfly and 50m Breastsroke, today finished on top of all his events.

Racing in a Speedo LZR Racer Elite, Sharath clocked a time of 32.47 seconds in 50m Butterfly followed by a timing of 38.41 Seconds in the 50m Breaststroke on the second day of the two-day event. Sharath also won Gold Medals in 50m Backstroke with a timing of  36.33 seconds and 50m Freestyle with a timing of 30.80 seconds on Day 1 of the Championships. 


Reflecting back on his performance, Sharath Gayakwad said "It is always a great pleasure to be swimming in front of my home crowd. Their cheers add a lot of positivity to my performance. I am happy to have done well at the Championships and hope to continue performing well at all upcoming events."
