The first ever SELF
SERVICE EXPO 2013 will be held in Bengaluru from November 14 to 16 at The Nimhans Convention Centre.
FIRST OF ITS KIND IN
INDIA EXPO ON VENDING MACHINES & KIOSK
Urban lifestyle, changing consumer behavioural patterns and
a growing economy has propelled the market for vending machines in India. The
market is growing and it is estimated that less than 15 per cent of the
potential for vending machines has been tapped in India.
According to analysts in the next five years, the vending
machine/kiosk industry is going to rake in a business of over $1 billion.
Vending of foodstuff (juices, beer, water, coffee, chocolates etc) other
products (cigarettes, boarding passes, DVDs etc) and above all money, are going
to become the order of the day, as consumers are increasingly finding them not
just user-friendly, but also bringing down human interface.
To further promote this segment and exploit newer
opportunities of automatic vending, the first-ever SELF SERVICE EXPO 2013 will
be held in Bengaluru from November 14 to 16 at
The Nimhans Convention Centre.
According to Infinite Expositions, the organisers of the
show, the unique exhibition-cum-seminar will highlight the latest trends in
dispensing a variety of items/ services through vending machines and kiosks.
The demand for vending machines is growing at a rapid pace,
states Mr.George Johnson of Infinite Expositions. There are massive plans to install about
30,000 condom vending machines across the country, mostly in BPOs in the major
metros. Besides, there is a huge demand growing for snack vending machines from
corporate houses, shopping arcades and other retail outlets.
At the Self Service Expo, the highlight will be the Visitex
Touch Kiosk, a touch-screen based Visitor Management kiosk. It helps
enterprises in managing their security in a streamlined and uniform way all
across the enterprise. The terminal is normally placed at the security gate and
visitors can create the badge themselves.
Thus from the first modern coin-operated vending machine
introduced in London in the early 1880s, dispensing post cards, India has
caught up with the latest in vending machines / kiosks.
